The IBMS was launched in 1994 to replace the Building Supplies Division with an enhanced service more closely tailored to the needs of Builder’s Merchants.

As with the other special divisions’ members benefit from full membership of the BHF and its many valuable services, with the added value of IBMS membership.

The IBMS is involved in developing new sector- specific services, and puts a great deal of effort into promoting the interests of the independent merchant while combatting the encroachment of new burdens from both government and other sources.
